About Me
I received my undergraduate education at the University of Florida where I graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a B.S. in Chemistry in 1979. I then attended the UF College of Dentistry where I received my Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 1983. After graduating I worked for the State of Florida and received my commission in the Navy Reserve Dental Corps. I was deployed to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba in 2002 where I served as the dentist for Detainee Operations and Navy Hospital GTMO. Some of my other interesting Navy assignments include humanitarian operations in Kodiak Island, Alaska, and Horn of Africa’s Kenya. I have a passion for photography and my office is adorned with images from these adventures as well as ones from my yearly missionary trips. I've recently retired from the U.S. Navy Reserve after 26 years of service. I hold a Courtesy Clinical Assistant Professor Appointment in Community Dentistry at the UF College of Dentistry and also hold a Courtesy Appointment in the UFCD Department of Endodontics. I am also a member of the North Central Florida International Team for Implantology (ITI) Study Club, Academy of General Dentistry, American, Florida, and Alachua County Dental Associations, and the Lake City Rotary Club. I am married to my wife, Laura and have 2 sons who are currently attending the University of Florida.
