Root Canal Treatment: What You Need to Know

What is a root canal?

The Root canal refers to the uppermost part of the tooth, the area which contains the pulp. The pulp is the nerve and blood supply which enables your tooth to work properly. Usually, a tooth will have a root which goes up to a certain height, and then joins with the rest of the tooth. The tooth has nerves which supply the pulp. If the tooth is infected or has a cavity, it will have a corresponding gap in the tooth (a so-called apical vitelline pulp) which causes a bleeding or leaky tooth. This apical vitelline pulp can be lost when the dentist inserts the dental drill into the root of your tooth and a portion of the tooth may be removed. The wound from a root canal is not healed and requires either a short-term solution or a long-term problem.

Causes of root canal :
The most common causes of a root canal are inflammation of the pulp chamber or the nerve roots, an abscess inside the pulp chamber, an abscess or infection at the dental pulp tip, and a lack of proper pulp development.
Symptoms of root canal :
The symptoms of a root canal vary, depending on the cause of the problem. The most common symptoms are an intolerable burning pain and discharge from the tooth. Other symptoms include numbness or swelling at the tip of the tooth, swelling in the jaw and difficulty chewing or speaking.

How does it work?
The roots are divided in such a way that the tooth within gets some sort of infection and cannot heal. The dead cells die and the infection remains inside the tooth. This is the reason that you can see the bacteria in your teeth. You will feel some pain in your tooth area. An x-ray should show that your tooth is infected and that there are no signs of infection after X-ray inspection. If there is no infection you can get this treatment done.
You should get your teeth x-rayed and you should consult the dentist first. We should carry out a root canal treatment on your tooth to get rid of the infection.
The procedure :
Root canal treatment or periodontal treatment is a dental treatment that is used to treat inflammation or infection in a specific part of the mouth, called the root. Dental treatment in Kolkata
The root canal treatment procedure can be done by dentists trained to do dental work. In this treatment, a root canal is first made in the injured or infected part of the tooth by taking a specific amount of blood from the gums, then applying anesthesia to the site.
After the first stage of treatment, the tooth is moved to the dental clinic for restorative treatment. The teeth are cleaned up and a special filling material is used. This filling material is more resistant to further wear and tear and does not wear out as easily as other materials.
