About Me
Dr. Cottrell graduated from Pomona College in Claremont California with a degree in Zoology. He then went on and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Loma Linda University in 1987. Upon the recommendation of the Faculty of Dentistry, he received several awards including: Certificate of Merit from the American Society of Dentistry for Children: for outstanding interest and proficiency in dentistry for children as an undergraduate student. Quintessence Award in recognition of academic achievement. Achievement Award from the American Academy of Gold Foil Operators: for outstanding achievements in operative dentistry and proficiency in direct gold restorations. Elected to the Honorary Dental Society: Omicron Kappa Upsilon. Dr. Cottrell completed his specialty training and certification in Pediatric Dentistry at Children's Hospital Medical Center and the University Of Cincinnati College Of Medicine in 1989. He also completed an interdisciplinary training program in developmental disabilities through the University Affiliated Cincinnati Center for Developmental Disabilities. Dr. Cottrell holds appointments to the Department of Surgery at numerous hospitals. He is also a member of the California Society of Pediatric Dentistry, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, California Dental Association, Central Coast Dental Society, American Dental Association, and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
