Porcelain Veneers have been used in cosmetic dentistry for decades. They are sometimes referred to as instant orthodontics. This is because they can change the alignment and shape of our teeth in just a few short dental visits. Porcelain veneers are very popular and can make life altering changes to your smile. Can porcelain veneers also offer benefits beyond cosmetic appearance?

What Are Porcelain Veneers In Henderson NV?

Your cosmetic dentist will use similar materials that are used to fabricate porcelain crowns. Porcelain veneers are fingernail like thin pieces of porcelain that are chemically bonded to your teeth in order to modify the color, shape, and size of your teeth. As mentioned previously, porcelain veneers are also sometimes referred to as “instant orthodontics”. This is because porcelain veneers give your dentist the ability to make changes in teeth alignment to even straighten your smile. This is not possible in extreme misalignment cases but can help align your smile in small increments.

The best part about porcelain veneers? This cosmetic dentistry procedure can be completed in as few as two (2) dental visits and the porcelain veneers are individually customized and fabricated to fit your individual smile. When completed they will look natural and complement the rest of your smile. The dental porcelain will mimic your natural tooth in translucency as well as the way the light reflects off your smile.

Porcelain Veneers In Henderson NV Characteristics

Porcelain veneers have the following characteristics:

–Natural Translucent quality — Translucency means that light is able to pass thru to a certain level. Our natural teeth allow for light to pass thru so porcelain veneers are designed to mimic those same translucent properties. This gives porcelain veneers a natural depth, providing for a dazzling Hollywood smile.

Color matching — If you are replacing multiple teeth, then all your veneers can be a natural, bright color of your choosing. When covering just one or two teeth, customized porcelain veneers can easily be matched to the surrounding natural teeth in order to provide a consistently beautiful smile that no one will ever notice are not your natural teeth.

Non-porous surface — Porcelain veneers are ceramic glass and are non-porous, preventing future stains from ruining your new smile.

Porcelain Veneers Visits

Porcelain veneer treatment is generally consists of 2-3 dental visits. They are as follows:

Visit 1 – Porcelain Veneers Consultation. Are porcelain veneers right for your smile? This is when you will explain your concerns and wishes about your smile with your dentist. Your dentist can then explain if porcelain veneers are right for your individual smile and desires. In some instances, porcelain veneers may not be the right dental treatment for your smile and more extensive treatment may be needed like orthodontics (either traditional or invisalign type oorthodontic treatment) or porcelain crowns. Porcelain veneers can also be used along with those other procedures to give you the Hollywood smile you have always dreamed of.

Visit 2 – Teeth Preparation. At this visit, your teeth will be prepared so the porcelain veneers can be custom fabricated. A small amount of tooth structure will be removed from each tooth included in porcelain veneers treatment. In some cases, no tooth structure is necessary (also called “no preparation” veneers). Your dentist will keep you comfortable during the procedure by delivering local anesthesia to the area that is being worked on. Once the preparation of teach individual tooth is completed, your dentist will take a dental impression that will be used by the dental laboratory to create your customized porcelain veneers. Temporary veneers will be placed on teeth until final custom porcelain veneers are fabricated.

Visit 3 – New Smile. Once your custom  veneers are fabricated by the dental laboratory, you will return for placement and fit of porcelain veneers. The veneers will be initially placed on a trial basis in office to ensure proper fit, color, and shape. If the new veneers meet your dream smile then the dentist will bond them to your teeth.

What Causes Tooth Sensitivity?

There are two very different types of Tooth Sensitivity Causes:

-Sensitivity Of The Dentin. This type of sensitivity occurs when the dentin layer of a tooth is exposed. Dentin is supposed to be covered by enamel above the gum line and by cementum (bone like connective tissue covering the root of a tooth) below the gum line. The dentin is made up of tiny openings called tubules. Inside each tubule there is a nerve branch that comes from the tooth’s pulp (the nerve center of the tooth). When exposure of the dentin occurs, these nerve branches can be affected by cold, heat, or even certain foods (like acidic foods). This causes sensitivity of the teeth. Dentin exposure is a prime factor in what causes sensitive teeth. When the outer protective layers of enamel or cementum wear away the dentinal tubules becomes exposed to external factors such as heat and cold.

This dental sensitivity can affect one tooth or multiple teeth. Dentin exposure can be be what causes sensitive teeth in multiple ways. These can include:

– Overly Aggressive tooth brushing. The enamel layer can be worn away from brushing too hard or even using a toothbrush that is too hard over a long period of time.

– Dental plaque build up. The presence of plaque along root surfaces can cause tooth sensitivity.

-Tooth Wear. This type of wear occurs over time from teeth clenching and teeth grinding (bruxism).

-Untreated Tooth Decay.

Recession of Gum Tissues. When the gums recede they expose the tooth’s uncovered roots. Receding gums are often caused by periodontal disease or by overly aggressive brushing. Receded gums are very common and approximately 80% of all people have some form of gum recession by the time the age of 65. Gum recession is a major factor in what causes sensitive teeth in many people.

-Periodontal surgery (gum surgery) that exposes the tooth’s roots.

Teeth Whitening. Excessive teeth whitening can have harmful effects and teeth sensitivity is a possible side effect.

-Food Choice. Frequently eating acidic foods.

-Pulpal sensitivity. This is a reaction of the tooth’s pulp. The pulp consists of blood vessels and nerves in the center of each tooth. Sensitivity of the pulpal tissue tends to affect only one tooth.

Causes of this type of sensitivity can include:

-Tooth Decay or dental infection.

-Placement of a recent dental restoration.

-Excessive pressure from teeth grinding or clenching your teeth.

-A cracked or broken tooth. If you feel a sharp pain upon biting, you may have a broken or cracked filling. Pain upon release of your bite is a sign of a cracked tooth.

Your dentist will be able to diagnose what causes the sensitive teeth for you.

Can porcelain veneers help with tooth sensitivity?

Yes, porcelain veneers can offer a layer of protection for your teeth especially for teeth that have enamel erosion. many patients report decreased or no tooth sensitivity following porcelain veneer treatment. Porcelain veneers will also improve dental hygiene which will limit future tooth sensitivity. Regular visits to the dentist along with home dental maintenance will allow your smile to stay healthy and youthful fo a lifetime. Visit your dentist in Henderson NV today if you are experiencing sensitive teeth to see what options are right for you.

Root canal treatment (RCT)  is also referred to as endodontic therapy. This dental procedure consists of the elimination of infection from the root canal of the damaged tooth. During this process, the pulp having nerve tissues, blood vessels and other cells present there is cleaned and disinfected and also sealed using filling material to stop expanding infection in further areas. Dental veneers are customized fittings that help cover or correct dental issues such as;

  • Blemishes and teeth discoloration.
  • Cracks and small gaps
  • Tooth decay
  • Crooked teeth
  • Spaces between the teeth.

Veneer teeth not only enhance the appearance of a person’s teeth but also benefits the people who desire a long-term solution to resolve cosmetic concerns, especially those who do not acknowledge the other dental treatments such as teeth whitening, braces, or retainers. When the patient visits a dentist’s office, the dentist will eliminate a small layer of enamel that is the exterior covering of the teeth. After this, the dentist will place the veneers over the front surface of the teeth.

Different types of veneers:

There are two types of veneers i.e porcelain and resin-based composite.

Porcelain veneers:

Porcelain veneers are tough with a flat covering that is placed by a dentist on the head and sides of the teeth. The placement procedure includes the elimination of a small layer of tooth enamel and the attachment of veneers afterward. Porcelain veneers have a similar color to natural teeth.  But it is quite possible to get a whiter and brighter smile.

Resin-based composite veneers:

Resin-based composite veneers produce the same results as porcelain veneers. However, they can be less expensive and require less elimination of tooth enamel. Sometimes, a dentist may not need to extract enamel before adding the composite veneer. Moreover, composite veneers are not so difficult to replace when they are broken or damaged compared to porcelain veneers.

A question that justifies some serious consideration prior to making the decision between products. With metal braces impact on self-esteem can be negative, but name-calling is not limited to the "strange ones". Even adults can be called names like "metal mouth", "railroad tracks" or "brace face", just to name a few. Also, some adults also discover that they are not taken seriously in the workplace because of their new, shiny metal smiles. Make an appointment with the Best Rated Dentist Near Me to know all about the treatment.

bestdentistmidtownhouston1024x735.jpg

While the frequently seen braces are easily seen, the Invisalign aligners, as the name implies, are virtually invisible to others and therefore, reduce the chances of name-calling. But, name-calling aside, it may be the health benefits and the overall comfort that make Invisalign the most ideal choice. Get the treatment done only by a top dentist near me.

Invisalign aligners are custom-fitted to the patient's mouth with the help of a 3-D plan of the entire treatment timeline. They are adjusted depending on the degree of correction necessary. Since metal braces and brackets are not necessary, there is little pain.

dentist16.jpg

Advantages of Invisalign attachments:

The natural process of tightening braces can be most painful for the dental patient. It takes a little more time to get used to the braces. Special medication may be required to treat these symptoms. Invisalign technology offers a way to set back all these problems.

Hygiene is one of the biggest factors in the decision-making process. If you compare standard braces with Invisalign Aligners, the end is removed while eating. Braces and brackets leave many channels and routes and this can cause plaque, which is difficult to remove causing teeth to decay or discolor. In order to sustain good oral hygiene with braces, users must use a special toothbrush, an oral irrigator, and a fluoride mouth rinse to strengthen the enamel and repair microscopic cavities. In the case of the Invisalign aligners, the users must brush and floss after eating prior to putting the aligners back in.

Wearing metal braces can be dangerous for people who are indulged in sports. Moreover, they have to wear protective gear such as mouth guards to avoid accidents. Otherwise, It can cause severe injuries to the lips and gums, and even produce irreparable damage to the teeth. Moreover, commercial mouth guards are not a hundred percent safe, since they have gaps.

images1.jpg

While it may seem true that metal braces are more affordable, they come with other costs such as lower self-esteem or work problems. Invisalign Near Me has saved many from both physical and emotional discomfort, and with better overall oral hygiene as a side benefit, Invisalign gives wearers many new reasons to smile.

Invisalign Braces cost:

Invisalign treatment costs may range between $3,000 and $7,000, however, most people spend $5,000 or less whereas the cost of traditional metal braces may range between $3,000 and $10,000.

Why Orthodontic Treatment Needed?

If you are looking for an orthodontist- the best dentist in Houston then you don’t need to look any further than the specialized services that you can find at urbndental.com. The reasons people need an Adult Dentist Near Me for orthodontic treatment vary from person to person.

houstondentistnearme1599x400.jpg

Introduction

The number of people with orthodontic treatment is rising every year at a steady rate. Your best dentist near me will typically be the first person to mention orthodontic treatment and they will likely send you to see an orthodontist for a consultation to see if you need their services.

Candidates for Braces

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children should be seen for their first orthodontic consultation before they reach 8 years of age. This screening can allow the orthodontist to use preventative measures to possibly correct situations that may lead to braces in the future. This screening can also help parents know if they are going to be needing orthodontic treatment planning very shortly. Adult Dentist Houston may consult with their dentist at any time. The initial consultation is usually a visual evaluation of the person's teeth and facial structure. If the orthodontist requires more information, diagnostic records are then taken. These diagnostic tools are then used by the orthodontist to study and formulate a treatment plan.

Referral from Dentist

Generally, orthodontists won't need a reference from an overall dental specialist, it might very well be useful to get one when it comes time to picking a dental specialist that is appropriate for you.

Why Braces Needed

Braces are used to move your teeth into the ideal position and align how they bite together. There are three different types of misalignment.

dentistopenonsaturdays11.jpg

  • Class I: The ideal relationship between the upper and lower teeth. Crowding or spacing may be present with a Class I bite.
  • Class II: The person's lower first molar is positioned more towards the back of their mouth. The upper jaw appears to protrude forward. A Class II bite has two sub-classes that also describe the position of the upper front teeth.
  • Class III: The person's lower first molar is positioned closer to the front of the mouth. The lower jaw protrudes forward.

A few patients might experience the ill effects of changing levels of swarming or dividing. Swarming is a condition that makes the teeth crossover, pivot and develop into the wrong situation in their mouth. Swelling and crowding may likewise be brought about by losing the essential early or holding them in the mouth longer than anticipated. Swelling makes it hard to brush and floss teeth effectively, which can prompt tooth rot or gum disease

Conclusion

Definitely check out the services at the Best Dental Office. They will be especially helpful if you are looking to see if you or your child needs braces or any other dental correction.

In 1952 a Swedish orthopedic surgeon named Per-Ingvar Branemark invented the Dental Implants. Today this is a very integral part of dentistry. It is a surgical fixture that is put into the jawbone. Over the span of a few months, it allowed the bone to fuse. To hold a replacement tooth or bridge, this “artificial tooth root” serves. Between the jawbone and dental implant, a process of fusion takes place which is known as “osseointegration”. Titanium is used in the making mostly dental implants. Without being recognized as a foreign object in our body, Titanium allows them to integrate with the bone. For dental implants, the success rate is close to 98% today.

dentalbridgesprocedure.jpg

Why dental implant is needed?

To replace a single tooth, several teeth, or all of the teeth, dental implants can be used. When it comes to tooth replacement there are three options generally:

  1. A complete denture or Partial denture (Removable dental appliance)
  2. Cemented or Fixed dental bridge
  3. Dental Implant

The more affordable option for teeth replacement is Dentures. But because of the inconvenience of a removable appliance in the mouth, they are the least desirable. Dentures can affect one’s sensory experience and taste with food.

Implants do not affect surrounding natural teeth and are supported by bone only. These three factors are specifically for dental implants:

  • Patient’s health
  • Missing teeth location
  • Cost
  • Preference of patient

orthodontistholdingteethmodelwithbraces.jpg

What are the types of Dental Implants?

There have been two different types of dental implants historically:

- Endosteal

- subperiosteal

An implant that is in the bone is referred to as Endosteal. An implant that rests on top of the jawbone under the gum tissue is referred to as Subperiosteal. As compared to endosteal dental implants subperiosteal implants are no longer in use today. This is due to their poor long-term results.

Before, during, and after dental implant surgery

The dental surgeon will visually examine the site in the mouth where a dental implant near me is being considered as well as look at the dental imaging studies, during the planning and consulting stage.

The patient is usually given a local anesthetic to numb the surgical area as well as any other sedatives necessary for comfort and anxiety, during all surgical dental implant procedure appointments. A tooth or teeth extraction is the first stage of oral surgery. The tooth will need to be extracted in order to prepare for the placement of a dental implant.

c1e1561131675373.jpg

After the procedure to ensure that no infection exists and healing is taking place, follow-up appointments are necessary. The dental implant is tested to determine whether it was successfully taken up by the surrounding bone, after the required healing period. A prosthetic component is connected to the dental implant via a screw, once this has been confirmed.

What is the cost of a dental implant?

A single dental implant cost can vary depending on who is performing the procedure and in which region you are. For a single dental implant, a conservative cost estimate is $3,000-$4,500. The surgery for placement of an implant, the implant crown, and all the components are included in this cost.

Look for dental school degrees, ADA (American Dental Association) certifications, and even certificates for partnerships with current dental schools. An active member of the field is what you want working on your teeth, a family dentist that is constantly honing their skills and learning how to implement the latest research.

Service

When you walk into the waiting room of a walk-in dentist, watch how the staff treats you. Be polite and ask service-related questions and about appointment flexibility to see how they answer. Are they amiable, and answer any questions you have? Do they make eye contact, or push forms in front of you and keep their head down? Basically, are you being treated as if this is the beginning of a long-term relationship, or are you being shuffled through with other patients?

Dentist

Ask to meet with the dentist. Call ahead to make sure that they have a moment to speak with you and answer any questions pertaining to their services. Ask about any cosmetic dentistry procedures they are trained in; and if you have young children, make sure to inquire about the steps concerning orthodontic braces as they get older.

Patients

If a patient seems relaxed in the waiting room, ask them if they've enjoyed the dentist open near me. This must be done delicately as to not appear aggressive or ill-natured. Start with small talk at first, and avoid any parents that have children to tend to. Above all, do not interfere with the business itself. You should gain insight into why customers return to this particular office and how the family dentist in question fares with another patient.

Common Cosmetic Dental Procedures

Ever shied away from being part of family photos? Instinctively covered your mouth when meeting someone new? Do you generally feel self-conscious about the look of your teeth? Cosmetic dentistry could be right for you. For many, our smile is directly linked to our confidence. Improve one and you’ll boost the other. Here’s a look at the most common cosmetic dental procedures and which problems they’re designed to treat.

Teeth Whitening

Food, drinks, medication and habits like smoking can stain your teeth over time. With teeth whitening it’s possible to restore your natural tooth color or even go several shades whiter than your original tone. Once plaque, tartar and other debris have been removed from the surface of each tooth, a bleaching agent is applied to lighten your teeth.

Dental Veneers

Manufactured from medical-grade ceramic or porcelain, dental veneers provide a quick and easy solution to chipped, cracked or heavily stained teeth. Veneers can even be used to hide misaligned or crooked teeth as well as filling in unwanted gaps. Dental veneers are simply applied to the surface of each tooth using a special dental adhesive for an immediate restoration of your smile.

Composite Bonding

A cost effective solution for repairing decayed or damaged teeth is to drill or grind down the problem area and then fill and sculpt the space with tooth-colored plastic or resins. Composite bonding is also an excellent solution for reshaping worn down edges. The dental bond is then hardened with a high-intensity light.

Dental Crowns or Caps

Crowns fit over your teeth to fill in cracks or chips or if part of a tooth is missing entirely. Manufactured off-site, crowns are applied with dental cement adhesive.

Inlays/Onlays

Similar to a crown but slightly different, inlays/onlays are essentially fillings that are manufactured off-site and then adhered to your tooth to repair a large cavity or similar structural damage. An inlay fits inside a portion of the tooth whereas an onlay is fashioned to cover the entire surface. Onlays are an excellent solution in cases where a tooth does not have sufficient structure to support a traditional filling.

Invisalign

Invisalign is a modern orthodontic treatment that presents a viable alternative to traditional braces. Using a series of individually crafted, plastic trays you can slowly and gently straighten your teeth over time without the embarrassment of having a mouth filled with metal. Invisalign is nearly imperceptible, meaning that nobody has to know!

Dental Implants

A permanent solution for missing teeth, dental implants attach a prosthesis to a titanium post embedded into the jaw bone. Implants are nearly indistinguishable from the surrounding natural teeth and can be cared for in virtually the same fashion, with regular brushing.

Implants are a more popular solution than traditional bridges and dentures and it’s even possible to do a full mouth restoration, either tooth by tooth or by attaching a full set of new teeth to 4 titanium posts. This procedure is called All-on-4.
